In the Summoner's Rift, bottom duo should play as if they're competing in a three-legged race; they should take steps in harmony, or they would lose their balance, which means that the balance of the entire game would be lost, considering their importance.

ROX Tigers(currently Hanwha Life eSports) has shown tremendous growth at League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) 2018 Spring Split. Despite their final position at 6th place, itsolidified its position as the mid-tier LCK team and showed constant development. In particular, Man-heung 'Lindarang' Heo of top, Seong-hwan 'SeongHwan' Yoon of jungle, and Tae-hoon 'Lava' Kim of mid showed tremendous growth.

Bottom duo is often undervalued in the split when top, mid, and jungle shines, but it should not be forgotten that two firm legs are what makes the entire body stand. And the same applies to ROX's development; the perfect teamwork between ADC Sang-yoon 'Sangyoon' Kwon and support Han-gi 'Key' Kim was the foundation of ROX's excellent performance.

SangyoonandKey let go of the disappointment on the Spring Split soon enough and are planning to make a 'fresh start'. Hanwha Life's acquisition of ROX Tigers was also a great motivation in their course of preparation for the upcoming split.

Q.Please introduce yourselves.
A.Sang-yoon 'Sangyoon' Kwon=Hello, we're back with a new team name. I am Sangyoon, the ADC of Hanwha Life eSports (HLE).
A.Han-gi 'Key' Kim=And I'm Key, the support of HLE.

Q.You had a short break after the Spring Split. How was it?
A.Sangyoon=I only streamed, and literally streamed. I'm going all in on LoL. I live with it, I die with it.
A.Key=I took some decent rest and got myself a driver's license. Played LoL for a bit, and enjoyed my break.

Q.The Spring Split must have been happy and disappointing at the same time. Share us your thoughts.
A.Key=We were just a step away from the playoffs. Such a bummer.
A.Sangyoon=I was in the same team with our Head Coach for 3 years, and he would tell the players since the time when we were in Afreeca Freecs that we would regret so bad about a single point someday, and we should pull our best from the beginning of the Split. At the time I would laugh it off, thinking 'one point is nothing', but it turned out that way, and I was bummed out. But we were definitely quite close to the playoffs, and I am determined for the upcoming split.

Q.It really must have been quite disappointing, but your team did show great development. What do you think is the reason why?
A.Sangyoon=We were awful. The guys up there were quite shaky, and we only won one-fifth of the entire scrim until the day before the opening day of the Spring Split. It came to me that it was no simple matter, and we all panicked. But then, our head coach told us to 'make the best out of what we can at the moment' and helped us come to our senses. We did lose our opening game, but thanks to the coach we thought 'it's okay', and we gradually became better. We still don't know the exact reason why we performed better, but it was about time.


A.Key=Our champion pool was ideal in the meta then, and that's where I think we were able to synergize. The guys gathered force as the winning streak went on. It was great to see us actually change into a better team.

Q.When was the moment when it came to you that 'this Split is going to be different'?
A.Key=We beat ktRolster and KSV, and they're considered the top teams. That's when it came to me that 'we can pull it off when we think about the opponent's moves and what we should do to counter them'.
A.Sangyoon=When we beat kt by 2:0 in Round 1, my mind was already at the playoffs. Beating the top-tier teams boost our morale. I also think we were quite good against KingzoneDragonX. The game wasn't one-sided. I realized that the team actually changed when we played well and beat strong teams.

Q.Other teammates improved a lot. How was the team's mood?
A.Sangyoon=We were all hyped. We were all harmonized and showed great mechanics. The overall self-assessment was that we got better.
A.Key=We watched clips of our opponents the day before our game, shared comments on what we can do to bring the game to our favor and applied these tactics. It was the head coach's decision, and we developed a lot doing so.

Q.It was quite a upper-half focused meta. What did the head coach tell you to do?
A.Sangyoon=Coaches said that we should not collapse, and show consistency. They wanted us to be the pillar of the game.

Q.Does that mean that you are off of the burden of carrying the game?
A.Key=Fence sitters we were. After long wait came the win. For the first time I have realized that everything comes to those who wait.
A.Sangyoon=It was an easy ride, but I wasn't too comfortable with it. I left a bit abandoned. Of course, I am grateful to other laners since they were able to snowball the support on them and got us wins. But it's always good to win a game with everyone doing well, so I will have to try my best.

Q.Although not spotlighted, you two also had a great split. How satisfied are youabout the last Split?
A.Key=7 out of 10? I made a few mistakes. My mind was telling me no, but my body… my champ was moving toward where it shouldn't be. I really need to cut down on those mistakes.
A.Sangyoon=We were ranked 6th in the end, but 6th and 8th are same in the sense that we didn't make it to the playoffs, so I can't be satisfied with that. Others were good, but I wasn't. I didn't pull off any insane plays, and I got carried. We win, I feel like I'm in a slump, then we win again, I start feeling strange, and we win again. I was on this up and down run throughout the split. I think I did about half of what I should have done.

Q.Were you disappointed about the meta, which suddenly put emphasis on other lanes?
A.Key=LoL is a game where the stronger lane carries the game. Our team's strategy last Split was focusing on top or mid, and they carried the game. I don't feel bad about it, but I hope to create other tactics using the bottom lane for the upcoming split, and I believe it will help us become even stronger.

Q.The end of the Split must have been quite bittersome. You missed the playoffs. How did you and the teammates deal with the result?
A.Key=We told each other that although we may have regrets, we should not be discouraged. We also said to each other that we should keep this experience in our minds to motivate us for the next Split.


A.Sangyoon=I had everything set up for the playoffs. I was like, 'I should shave my head, and pull out a decent ceremony when we reach the finals'. I really wanted to go to Rift Rivals too. But it didn't go as planned. 'Let's do better next time'. A formal, gloomy thing to say.

Q.What did you gain from the Spring Split?
A.Sangyoon=That other guys became better, and that we are only a step away from becoming an actual threat. We gained confidence, and that matters the most.
A.Key=Now we are not the team trying to avoid relegation, but a team competing for a spot in the playoffs. If we keep making progress, we can go for 3rd or 4th, and even 1st and 2nd place. Last split was a great motivation for me.

Q.A great news came before the Summer Split. You two are now members of Hanwha Life eSports (HLE). How did you feel after hearing the news?
A.Sangyoon=It was great to hear that we are being backed up by a large corporation. There may be some cons, but no cross, no crown. Hanwha Life has also done great things for us. They got us tailored suits and took us to the baseball game. I am so looking forward to their great support.
A.Key=With large corporation behind our back, we should do better. That's really the only thing left.

Q.What about other teammates? Are they feeling burdened by the big name?
A.Sangyoon=Quite, yeah. We all have never had a big-name sponsor on our backs. But professional gamers should be able to bear such burden and show good results. With the overwhelming support that Hanwha Life has provided, we should be able to do our best. So, I guess, it is a positive burden.
A.Key=While quite burdening, it is a great chance for the team, and I think we can do better next Split.

Q.How did you feel when you were at the ballpark?
A.Sangyoon=I bet not many baseball fans would know us, and so I was quite daunted to stand on the cheer platform at the ballpark, not sure if we can be here. But an old baseball fan cheered for us, saying that we have become a new member of Hanwha family, and that we can do it. A great sense of fellowship under the name of Hanwha. I felt great responsibility.
A.Key=I was worried that no one would know us, but many welcomed and cheered for us. It was a great day.


Q.You are off with a fresh start. What do you think should be improved in the upcoming split?
A.Key=We are good with snowballing, but we have a hard time overcoming a mistake. We will have to work on making amendments and making thorough game plans.
A.Sangyoon=We lack simplicity. Strong teams play based on concrete plans, while weaker teams play based on eventuality. Teamfights should be a planned thing, but weaker teams tend to go for fights whenever the enemy is seen. I've been telling the teammates that I want us to become a team playing calmly like a peaceful meadow, like Afreeca Freecs. If we plan our game right and build on our basic skills, we will be able to finish with a better result. Also, everyone should work on their solo queue; high ELO boosts confidence.
A.Key=I believe Kingzone has both great mechanics and game plan, and that's why they won the Split. And that's why we should make efforts to have both the capabilities.

Q.You were able to show the team's color during the Spring Split. What team do you want to be in the future?
A.Key=We have this image as a brawler, which likes teamfights, and we actually do. But we want to be a team which picks only the fights we can benefit from. We want to evolve from a brawler to a professional fighter.
A.Sangyoon=We want our game to be entertaining, not only for us but also our fans. But then we should be better in the first place. I don't mean to compare, but Kingzone is the upgrade version of our team. They fight well, but we don't always pick the best fights. But thankfully, our team's image is not yet finished, and we will be able to paint it into what we want. And I want us to emulate Kingzone's ultimate black, which absorbs any other color.

Q.This might be a stale question, but what are your hopes for the upcoming split?
A.Key=4th place is our minimum goal, and we want to stand as the champions of LCK. We want to win the Summer Split and make it to World.
A.Sangyoon=A spot at the playoffs is the initial goal. I want us to rank 2nd, win the 2nd round of the Playoff, and make it to finals with our morale boosted. Then we're going to be the champion and make it to Worlds.

Q.The competition for the middle ranks of the table was fierce in the previous Split. Do you think it would be the same for the Summer Split?
A.Sangyoon=It will be from now on. The teams wouldn't be clearly weak and clearly dominant teams. The teams are being leveled off, and upsets are not really a thing any more. A slip will hurt so much, so we should be more careful than ever.
A.Key=Like Sangyoon said, the teams are all similar. We should prep well, and find opponents' weaknesses by watching their clips.

Q.You have been playing together for more than a year. Do you think your harmony is perfect?
A.Key=We talk with each other a lot. But I tend to forget calling out recalls, wards or roams. Except that we are a great duo.
A.Sangyoon=We do talk a lot, but Key seems to be in too much pressure when he misses out something, and he becomes hasty. Other than that he's great.
A.Key=Now that we have been playing together for a while, there's more than words.
A.Sangyoon=You mean that I should know more than words but I don't?
A.Key=No. I mean that I realized that I should not forget to make calls about the most natural plays.
A.Sangyoon=We've been a partner of joys and sorrows for quite a while. There are some things we miss out, but we are great as a duo.


Q.What were your first impressions of each other?
A.Key=When I first heard that I would play with Sangyoon, I thought that he would take good care of me based on his experience and good performance. And he actually did. Thanks, bro.
A.Sangyoon=La-di-da.That's what you call a fake smile.
A.Key=What are you talking about.
A.Sangyoon=Before joining our team, Key won the KeSPA Cup. He had great mechanics and was a player of great tricks. He was the best in the FA market. But sometimes he's childish, and somebody should bring him to his sense when he becomes too hasty. He still does that sometimes. He needs to be disciplined. He whines a lot, like a child who goes 'I am hungry'. Then I have to step up and tell him to wait.
A.Key=I improved a lot, but I still have a long way to go.
A.Sangyoon=He was a yahoo at first, but he did improve a lot, thanks to the head coach. He still needs to improve more though.

Q.Any compliments to each other?
A.Key=Sangyoon makes calls that support cannot, and he checks what I lack. He has great map reading skills, and contributes to the entire game.
A.Sangyoon=And Key does the exact opposite. He's great with the details. He knows when to go for kills and teamfights, and he spots out enemy jungles well. He's quite active, unlike his gameplay. A great moodmaker, good lad.

Q.Your team was known for brisk atmosphere since ROX times. Is it still like that?
A.Sangyoon=Our gaming house is a detached house in the suburbs, and the guys go berserk, screaming around. They are already loud even when under control, and when one slips out of the control it becomes an animal farm. During solo queue or streams, guys become so hyped and it becomes a disaster. When someone's sleeping, I tell others to quiet down.
A.Key=I bet our neighbors would have heard us, but no one has complained yet. Thank you, neighbors.
A.Sangyoon=That's some random thanking.

Q.And can you point out each other's flaws?
A.Sangyoon=Key has a weak mentality, and is too hasty. His life is a haste. And I am trying really hard to keep him calm. My two most frequent in-game phrases would be 'It's okay', and 'keep it slow'.Other than those he's perfect.
A.Key=For instance, when the opposing support roams to mid, it just comes to me that I have tofollow, or bad things will happen.
A.Sangyoon=But that's not how the game should be played. When the opponent roams, we should push the wave in and make other moves, but he just leaves, saying 'wait for me'.
A.Key=Sangyoon's flaws… Can I be honest? He's a great player, but he sometimes gets CCed and deleted.
A.Sangyoon=In teamfights?
A.Key=Yeah. You just disappear. And when duo queuing, he communicates more with his viewers than with me. He should talk more with me.
A.Sangyoon=You should grab my attention.
A.Key=Whenever I'm trying to, you are already talking with your viewers.
A.Sangyoon=You should talk to me and grab my attention. Are you jealous?
A.Key=Come to your senses.
A.Sangyoon=What about in the daily life? How about me being lazy.
A.Key=Nope. I'm not in the position to point that out. I am lazy myself.

Q.How would you rank yourselves among the LCK bottom lane duos?
A.Key=Personally, I think the skills of every team's bottom lane duo are similar, but the players in better harmony with other team members and higher standings receive more attention. So, we would be average, just like the team standings.
A.Sangyoon=League standings are what speak out.

Q.Which bottom duo do you want to beat the most?
A.Key= SK Telecom T1's Jun-sik 'Bang' Bae and Jae-wan 'Wolf' Lee. They have a shining career. While we may lack in trophies, we want to show that we are competent enough. Also, we have never beat SKT, so we want to make our revenge in the upcoming Split. I want to kill them, without jungle interference.
A.Sangyoon=I want to beat KingzoneDragonX's 'PrillA' Duo. They are just solid, and good. Head coach wanted us to play like them, and one of my viewer told me that I was like PraY's generic version. And they say, 'imitation is the mother of creation'. I want to beat them.

Q.Any comments to each other?
A.Key=Let's work on our harmony throughout the Summer Split, and let's go to Worlds. Let's play duo for a long time.
A.Sangyoon=I believe Key has what it takes to be a top-tier support in LCK when he deals with the weak mentality and hastiness. I can see it in his gameplay. I hope he works on those two things and show good results together. Personally, I want to play together with our team members for a long time, with Key being one of them. I want us to play together for a long time.
A.Key=Then the five of us should all try hard.

Q.Lastly, remark to the fans?
A.Sangyoon=We are practicing really hard under the great support of Hanwha Life. We are inclined to show a more concrete performance and ask for your support. Also, Hanwha Life will be hosting lots of events, so please look forward to them. Lastly, I would like to share my words of gratitude to the CEO of ROX Tigers for the great help until now.

Q 스프링 시즌 이후 짧게나마 휴가를 즐기셨는데요. 어떻게 보내셨나요?
A 권상윤=방송만 했어요. 정말 개인 방송만 한 것 같아요. 이제부터 롤에 올인이에요. 롤만 하고, 롤에 죽을거예요.
A 김한기=휴식도 취하고 면허도 땄어요. 게임도 조금씩 하면서 휴가를 즐겼죠.

Q 여느 때보다 기쁘고 아쉬웠던 스프링 시즌이 끝났어요. 한 시즌을 보낸 감상은 어떠신가요?
A 김한기=굉장히 좋은 성적을 낼 수 있었는데 한 발 차이로 포스트시즌에 못 갔잖아요. 너무 아쉬워요.
A 권상윤=감독님이랑 지낸 지 3년 째거든요. 감독님께서 아프리카 프릭스 시절부터 '너네 1점 때문에 땅을 치고 후회할 날이 올 것이다'라는 말을 자주하셨어요. 처음부터 달려서 승 수를 쌓아 두라고요. 예전엔 '무슨 1점이에요'하고 웃어 넘겼는데 이렇게 되더라고요. 많이 아쉬웠어요. 그래도 좋게 생각하면 아슬아슬하게 떨어진만큼 다음 시즌에 대한 각오가 생겼어요.

Q 아쉽긴 했지만 꽤나 성장한 모습이었어요. 이유가 무엇이라고 생각하세요?
A 권상윤=저희가 원래 엄청 못했어요. 상체가 많이 흔들렸거든요. 실제로 개막전 전날까지 스크림 승률이 20%였어요. 진짜 '큰일났구나' 싶을 정도로 다 지더라고요. 그 때 감독님께서 '너희가 할 수 있는 것을 최대한 하면 된다'고 멘탈을 잡아주셨어요. 개막전에서 지긴 했지만 '괜찮다'는 생각이 들었죠. 조금씩 하다보니까 실력도 올라왔고요. 정확한 이유는 모르겠는데 갑자기 잘 해졌어요. 그럴 때가 되기도 했고요.
A 김한기=저희가 하는 챔피언 폭이 메타에 잘 맞아서 시너지 효과가 난 것 같아요. 또 선수들이 이길 때마다 기세를 타면서 더 잘해지더라고요. '우리도 바뀔 수 있구나'란 생각에 감회가 새로웠어요.

Q '이번 시즌은 다르다'라는 느낌을 받았던 때는 언제 인가요?
A 김한기=저희가 강팀이라 불리는 kt 롤스터와 KSV를 이겼잖아요. 그 때 '상대 플레이를 생각하면서 우리가 해야 할 일들을 하면 충분히 되는구나'라고 느꼈어요.
A 권상윤=1라운드에서 kt를 2대0으로 이겼을 때, 제 마음은 이미 포스트시즌에 가 있었어요. 어려운 상대를 이겼을 때 희망이 생기잖아요. 킹존 드래곤X전도 일방적으로 당하지 않고 나름대로 선전했다고 생각하거든요. 강팀 상대로 이기거나 경기력이 좋았을 때 '우리가 바뀌었구나'란 생각이 들었어요.

Q 상체의 발전이 돋보였는데요. 선수단 내부의 평가는 어땠나요?
A 권상윤=선수들끼리 모여서 피지컬도 올리고, 말도 잘 맞추더라고요. 내부에서도 잘 해졌다는 평가가 지배적이었어요.
A 김한기=저희가 경기 전날에 상대 팀 영상을 봐요. 그러면서 '이렇게 하면 우리가 좋게 가져갈 것 같다'는 의견을 나누고, 대회에 접목시키죠. 감독님의 주문이기도 했는데, 선수들이 영상을 보면서 공부하다보니 성장한 것 같아요.

Q 상체가 중요한 메타이기도 했는데요. 이번 메타에서 바텀 듀오는 어떤 주문을 받았나요?
A 권상윤=무너지지 말라고 하셨어요. 기복없는, 기둥같은 바텀이 있으면 좋겠다고요.

Q 확실히 캐리에 대한 부담이 줄었겠어요.
A 김한기=오히려 이제는 바라보는 입장이 됐죠. 보고 있으면 이기더라고요. 버티고 기다리면 보답이 온다는 것을 처음 느껴봤어요.
A 권상윤=편하긴 한데 기분이 애매했어요. 조금 버려진 느낌? 물론 바텀에 신경을 덜 쓴만큼 상체에 힘이 쏠렸고, 그만큼 잘 해줬으니 고맙지만요. 골고루 활약하고 이기는 것이 좋으니 다같이 열심히 해야죠.

Q 조명은 덜 받았지만 바텀 듀오의 활약도 좋았는데요. 시즌에 대한 만족도는 어떠세요?
A 김한기=10점 만점 중에 7점? 제가 실수를 꽤 했어요. 머리로는 '가면 안 된다'고 생각하는데 몸은 움직이고 있더라고요. 이런 실수는 꼭 줄여야 해요.
A 권상윤=저희가 결과적으로 6위를 했잖아요. 그런데 사실 6위나 8위나 똑같아요. 그러니 만족을 못 하죠. 상체는 잘 했는데 저는 부족했어요. 눈에 띄는 모습을 보여줬던 것도 아니고, 묻혀 가는 느낌이었죠. 그러다 한 번씩 이기고. 슬럼프가 올 것 같은 느낌이 들면 이겨서 기세가 살고, 이상하다 싶으면 살고. 이런 템포를 타면서 딱 반 정도 제 역할을 한 거 같아요.

Q 집중도가 갑작스럽게 상체로 넘어가서 서운했을 것 같기도 해요.
A 김한기=힘을 받은 쪽이 이겨주는 게임이잖아요. 이번 시즌에 상체에 힘을 썼고, 상체 선수들이 게임을 캐리해줬죠. 아쉽다기 보단 다음번엔 바텀도 활용해서 여러 무기를 만들었으면 하는 바람이 있어요. 그러면 더욱 강팀이 될 것 같아요.

Q 시즌 막바지엔 조금 아쉬웠을 것 같아요. 포스트시즌을 아깝게 놓쳤는데, 이후 선수들과 어떤 얘기를 나눴나요?
A 김한기=후회는 하되 낙담하진 말자. 지금의 기억을 되살려서 다음 시즌에 더 잘해보자. 이런 얘기를 한 것 같아요.
A 권상윤=그림이 찢어졌어요. 마음은 포스트시즌에 가 있었고, '결승가면 머리도 좀 밀고, 퍼포먼스도 재밌게 해야겠다'는 구상을 했거든요. 리프트 라이벌즈도 가고 싶었고요. 그런데 생각한대로 전개되지 않아서 아쉬웠죠. '다음에 더 잘 하자'라는 형식적인 말을 나눈 것 같아요. 참 암울한 얘기예요. 다음에 힘 내자고 하면서도.

Q 스프링 시즌을 통해 얻은 것이 있다면 무엇일까요?
A 권상윤=상체가 강해졌다는 것을 느꼈고, 한 발자국만 더 나아가면 강팀으로 거듭날 수 있겠다는 생각을 했어요. 자신감을 얻은 것이 제일 크죠.
A 김한기=이제 약팀이 아니고 중위권 팀이잖아요. 후퇴없이 전진만 하면 3,4위권에서 1,2등까지 노려볼 수 있을 것 같아요. 더 열심히 해야겠다는 동기 부여가 됐어요.

Q 서머 시즌을 앞두고 좋은 소식이 들려왔죠. 한화생명 e스포츠라는 새로운 팀명으로 리그에 출전하게 됐는데요. 소식을 듣고 기분이 어떠셨어요?
A 권상윤=대기업 후원을 받는다는 사실에 굉장히 설렜죠. 그만큼 힘든 일도 있겠지만, 고생에 따른 보상이 있을테니 의욕이 생기고요. 한화생명 측에서 벌써 많은 것을 해주셨어요. 양복도 맞춤 제작해주시고, 야구장도 구경시켜주시고요. 앞으로 많이 챙겨주실 것 같아서 기대돼요.
A 김한기=대기업의 후원이 들어왔으니 더 잘해야겠다는 생각을 했어요. 정말 열심히 하는 일만 남은 것 같아요.

Q 팀 내 분위기는 어땠나요? 부담감이 커졌을 것 같기도 해요.
A 권상윤=부담이 꽤 커요. 대기업 팀에서 활동해 본 선수들이 없거든요. 그래도 프로 게이머라면 다 이겨내고 날뛰어야 한다고 생각해요. 한화생명에서 날뛸 수 있는 판을 깔아주셨으니 제대로 해봐야죠. 좋은 부담감인 것 같아요.
A 김한기=부담감은 있지만 선수들 모두에게 좋은 계기가 됐어요. 다음 시즌엔 더 잘할 수 있을 것 같아요.

Q 야구장에선 느낌이 새로웠을 것 같아요.
A 권상윤=야구 팬분들은 저희를 많이 모르실 거예요. 그래서 단상에 올라갔을 때 '우리가 여기에 서도 되는건가? 이 자리에 와도 되는건가?'싶더라고요. 그런데 연령대가 지긋하신 팬분이 '한화 가족이 됐다'며 '잘 해. 할 수 있어'라고 응원해주셨어요. 한화라는 이름으로 뭉친 것 같아요. 책임감을 갖고 잘해야겠다는 생각이 들었죠.
A 김한기=올라갔을 때 반응이 시큰둥 할까봐 걱정을 많이 했어요. 그런데 다들 환호해주시고, 반겨주시더라고요. 행복했어요.

Q 새롭게 출발하는 기분이 들 것 같은데요. 이번 서머 시즌에 대비해 어떤 점이 강화되어야 한다고 생각하세요?
A 김한기=한 번 이득을 보면 잘 하는데, 실수가 나왔을 때 복구가 서툴러요. 복구력을 보완하고 설계를 잘 하면 괜찮은 성적을 낼 것 같아요.
A 권상윤=기본기가 약해요. 약팀은 강팀에 비해 우발적인 상황을 많이 만들어요. '여기서 교전을 열 것이고, 너희가 들어오면 붙을거야'가 돼야 하는데 눈 마주치면 '애들아, 가자!' 하는 거죠. 제가 맨날 말하는 것이 있어요. 푸른 초원에 누워서 게임하는 팀이 되고 싶다고. 아프리카 프릭스 처럼요. 교전 상황을 잘 설계하고, 기본기를 갖추면 강팀 반열에 오를 수 있을 것 같아요. 또 솔로 랭크 점수를 높일 필요가 있어요. 점수가 올라가면 자신감이 하늘을 뚫거든요.
A 김한기=저는 교전 능력과 기본기를 다 갖춘 팀이 킹존이라고 생각해요. 그래서 우승한 것이겠죠. 저희도 장착해야 하고요.

Q 스프링 시즌을 통해 HLE의 색깔이 어느정도 만들어진 것 같아요. 앞으로 어떤 팀이 되고 싶나요?
A 김한기=겉보기에는 싸움 좋아하고 많이 하는 팀이잖아요. 그런데 실제로 그렇거든요. 대신 완벽한, 이득만 보는 싸움을 하고 싶어요. 싸우는 이미지에서 잘 싸우는 이미지로 변하는거죠.
A 권상윤=저희의 게임이 재밌었으면 좋겠어요. 보는 사람 입장에서도 재미 있으면 좋잖아요. 그러려면 우리가 더 잘해야겠지만요. 자꾸 비교하게 되는데 킹존이 저희의 상위호환이에요. 킹존은 잘 싸우고 저희는 못 싸우는. 저희는 아직 색이 옅어서 무엇을 칠하든 그 색으로 변할 거예요. 그리고 어떤 색이든 티 안나게 흡수하는 킹존의 검은색을 본받고 싶어요.

Q 식상한 질문이지만 서머 시즌 목표가 있다면 무엇일까요?
A 김한기=최소 목표는 4등이에요. 더 나아가서는 우승이고요. 서머 시즌에서 우승하고, 롤드컵에도 꼭 나가보고 싶어요.
A 권상윤=작은 목표는 포스트시즌이에요. 결승 직행보단 2위 정도로 올라가고 싶어요. 플레이오프 2라운드에서 한 번 이기고, 기세를 탄 상태로 결승에 가고 싶어요. 그리고 우승해서 롤드컵에 가야죠.

Q 유달리 중위권 싸움이 치열했던 스프링 시즌이었는데요. 서머 시즌도 비슷한 양상으로 흘러갈까요?
A 권상윤=앞으로 계속 그럴거예요. 하위권 팀이 없어질 것 같다는 생각도 들어요. 압도적으로 잘 하는 팀도 없어질 테고요. 다 비슷해지고 있어요. 이 팀이 저 팀을 이겨도 이상하지 않은 상황이 나오고 있죠. 진짜 한 번 삐끗하면 잘못될 수도 있다는 생각이 들어요. 더 조심해야죠.
A 김한기=상윤이형 말처럼 다 비슷해진 것 같아요. 준비 잘하고, 영상도 챙겨 보면서 상대의 약점을 찾는 것이 중요하겠죠.

Q 1년 넘게 합을 맞추고 계시잖아요. 이제 호흡은 완벽하다고 생각하시나요?
A 김한기=대화를 굉장히 많이 하는 편이에요. 그런데 제가 하나 실수하는 것이 있어요. 귀환하거나 와드를 설치하러 가거나 로밍을 갈 때 콜을 놓칠 때가 많더라고요. 그 점만 보완하면 호흡은 잘 맞는다고 생각해요.
A 권상윤=말은 해요. 그런데 한기가 한 번 놓치면 압박을 받더라고요. 내가 아무것도 안 한 상황에서 상대가 무엇인가를 하면 마음이 급해져요. 이 부분을 조금만 바꾸면 좋을 것 같아요.
A 김한기=저희가 어느 정도 호흡을 오래 맞췄잖아요. 이젠 말하지 않아도 서로 알 때가 있어요.
A 권상윤=말하지 않아도 알아야 하는데 내가 몰라준다는 뜻이야?
A 김한기=아니지. 당연하게 알 것이라고 생각했던 플레이도 말을 안하면 모른다는 것을 깨달은 거예요. 당연한 플레이도 계속 말을 해야 하는구나 하고.
A 권상윤=같이 한 시간이 있다보니 호흡이 맞을 수 밖에 없어요. 조금씩 빗나가는 부분이 있지만요. 호흡 자체는 좋아요.

Q 첫 인상과 현재 인상도 듣고 싶어요.
A 김한기=상윤이형과 같이 한다고 들었을 때, 저보다 경험도 많고 잘했던 형이니까 보살핌을 받을 수 있겠다는 생각을 했어요. 실제로도 보살핌을 받고 있고요. 감사합니다, 형.
A 권상윤=너무 형식적인데? 인터뷰라고 그러는 거 아니야.
A 김한기=무슨 소리야.
A 권상윤=한기가 KeSPA컵에서 우승했잖아요. 개인 기량도 좋고, 요행을 잘 부리고. 이적 시장에 나온 선수들 중에서는 한기가 제일 좋았어요. 그런데 아이같은 부분이 있어요. 조금 급해지면 멘탈을 잡아줘야해요. 아직도 그래요. 혼나야 돼요. 엄청 칭얼거려요. '나 왜 밥 안 줘'하는 아이처럼요. 그러면 '조금만 기다리면 밥 줄거야. 기다려'라고 말 해줘야해요.
A 김한기=처음에 비해서는 엄청 나아진거예요. 아직 멀었지만요.
A 권상윤=처음에는 망나니였어요. 많이 심했는데 감독님의 가르침도 있고, 많이 변했죠. 조금 더 고쳐야 하겠지만요.

Q 서로 칭찬하면서 훈훈한 시간을 가져 볼까요?
A 김한기=상윤이형은 서포터가 못하는 콜을 많이 해줘요. 제가 부족한 것을 한 번 더 체크해주려고 하고요. 맵을 넓게 보면서 팀 전체에 기여하죠.
A 권상윤=딱 반대의 것을 한기가 해주고 있어요. '킬각'이나 '싸울 각'을 잘 보죠. 적 정글 위치도 잘 찾아주고요. 실제 생활에서도 얌전할 것 같은데 활발해요. 분위기 띄우려고 노력도 하고, 보기 좋아요.

Q 락스 시절부터 분위기가 활발하기로 유명했잖아요. 지금도 그런가요?
A 권상윤=숙소가 단독 주택이라 그런지 제어하지 않으면 선수들이 목청을 놓아요. 한 번 풀어 놓으면 답이 없어요. 제어를 해도 시끄러운데 안 하면 동물농장이 돼요. 연습할 때는 괜찮은데 랭크하거나 방송을 키면 난리가 나요. 듣기 싫은 사람이 한 소리 하고, 자는 사람이 있을 땐 제가 통제해요.
A 김한기=주변에 들릴텐데 아직 민원이 들어오진 않았어요. 주민분들께 감사드립니다.
A 권상윤=갑자기 감사 인사하면 이상하잖아.

Q 서로의 단점도 듣고 싶은데요.
A 권상윤=멘탈이 약하고 급해요. 인생이 급해요. 무엇이든 급해요. 최대한 눌러주고 있어요. 제가 게임할 때 가장 많이 하는 콜이 '괜찮아, 천천히 해'일 수도 있어요. 그 두 개만 고치면 완벽해요.
A 김한기=예를 들어 상대 서포터가 미드에 로밍을 갔을 때 제가 바텀에 있으면 가야 한다는 강박이 생겨요. 안 가면 일이 터질 것 같고.
A 권상윤=다른 쪽으로 풀어야 하잖아요. 상대가 갔으면 우리는 바텀을 밀고 다음 턴에 가야하는데 '나도 가야지!'해요.
A 김한기=상윤이형의 단점…. 포장 없이 말해도 돼요? 다 좋은데 한 번씩 잡힐 때가 있어요. 주요 CC를 맞고.
A 권상윤=한타 때?
A 김한기=맞아요. 이상하게 한 번씩 잡혀요. 그리고 듀오할 때 방송을 하면 저보다 시청자분들이랑 소통을 더 많이해요. 저랑 더 얘기를 많이 해줬으면 좋겠어요.
A 권상윤=너가 말을 걸어.
A 김한기=말을 걸려고 하면 이미 시청자분들이랑 말을 하고 있어.
A 권상윤=너가 말 해주고 이끌어야지. 어쩔 수 없어. 질투인데 이거. 약간 질투하는 것 같은데.
A 김한기=조율을 잘 해줘.
A 권상윤=생활에선 뭐 없어? 게으르다거나.
A 김한기=생활에선 딱히 없어요. 제가 게으르지 않으면 지적할 수 있겠지만 같이 게을러서요.

Q HLE의 바텀 듀오는 리그에서 몇 등이라고 생각하세요?
A 김한기=개인적으로 기량은 모든 팀이 비슷하다고 생각해요. 다만 팀과 융합이 잘 되고, 등수가 높은 팀의 바텀이 더 주목을 받는 것이죠. 그래서 저희는 등수대로 중위권이라고 생각해요.
A 권상윤=리그 성적이 곧 등수라고 생각해요.

Q 넘고 싶은 바텀 듀오가 있다면요?
A 김한기=일단은 SK텔레콤 T1의 '뱅' 배준식과 '울프' 이재완 듀오를 압살해보고 싶어요. 경력이 대단하시잖아요. 저희가 경력 면에선 한참 모자르지만 경쟁력이 있다는 것을 보여주고 싶어요. 또 저희가 SK텔레콤을 못 이겨봤거든요. 서머 시즌에는 복수하고 싶어요. 솔로킬도 내고 싶고요.
A 권상윤=킹존 드래곤X의 '프릴라' 듀오를 이기고 싶어요. 단단하면서도 잘 하는 팀이잖아요. 감독님께서 저희도 그런 느낌으로 성장했으면 좋겠다 하셨고, 방송하면서 '보급형 프레이'라는 말도 들어봤어요. '모방은 창조의 어머니'라는 말이 있잖아요. 꼭 이기고 싶어요.

Q 서로에게 하고 싶은 말은 없었나요?
A 김한기=서머 시즌까지 호흡도 더 맞춰보고, 꼭 잘해서 롤드컵(LoL 월드 챔피언십)에 가자. 오래 오래 해먹자.
A 권상윤=한기는 멘탈과 급해지는 플레이만 고치면 롤챔스 톱 서포터가 될 수 있다고 생각해요. 게임 하는 것을 보면 딱 느껴져요. 부족한 것이 딱 두 개인데 고쳐서 같이 좋은 성적을 냈으면 좋겠어요. 저는 개인적으로 같은 멤버로 오래 했으면 좋겠어요. 그 중에 한기도 포함돼 있고. 5명이 다 오래 해먹었으면 좋겠어요.
A 김한기=그러려면 5명이 다 노력해야 되겠네.
